Agent chat
A workspace for an agent that does things, not only talks: you see its plan, every tool it calls and how long each took, you approve anything that acts outside the chat, and what it writes opens beside the conversation.
Examples
A research agent in the library
Ask it to research the Book of Optics. Watch it plan, read two manuscripts at once, retry a failed step, then ask before emailing. Open a tool card, press a citation, open the brief. Type / for commands, ⌘K for everything else.
New chat
What should I look into?
I plan, search and read the library’s holdings, ask before I act, and write up what I find.
What’s included
- A plan that ticks off as the agent works, its thinking folded away, and each tool call as a card with its arguments, result, status and a timer; calls made at once are grouped.
- Approvals: a risky action pauses the run until you allow it, deny it, or allow that tool for the rest of the chat.
- Stop, retry and edit-and-resend; failures are shown, with the work done so far kept.
- Citations as chips that open the sources, and documents or tables in a side pane you can resize, copy and download; on phones it opens as a sheet.
- Conversations you can search, rename and delete (with undo), kept in the browser; attachments, slash commands and ⌘K.
- It reads the events a TanStack AI agent streams, so it works with your own agent endpoint; plan, citations, artifacts and usage travel as custom events.

Accessibility
- The conversation is a log; a finished answer is announced once, not word by word.
- An approval request is announced right away, and its buttons are reachable with Tab.
- Each tool card is a button that says whether it’s open; citation chips name their source.
- With reduced motion, cards and panes appear without sliding.
