Voice agent
A voice call with an agent. The orb moves with your voice, what you both say is written out as you speak, and you can talk over the agent to cut it off.
Examples
Call the librarian
Start a call and type a question about opening hours, borrowing, or the Book of Optics: the librarian answers out loud. Your voice moves the orb and never leaves this device. Spoken questions, the live transcript and talking over the agent come on when you connect your voice service.
Talk to the librarian about the library.
Your voice stays on this device. Nothing is recorded.
What’s included
- An orb that follows your microphone while you talk and pulses with the agent’s words while it speaks.
- A live transcript: what you say appears gray until it’s settled, and the agent’s current word is highlighted. Captions can be turned off.
- Talk over the agent and it stops; the cut-off line is marked.
- Hands-free or push-to-talk (hold Space or the button), mute, end call, a call timer, line quality, and a microphone picker.
- Plain answers when the microphone is blocked or missing, and a box to type in whenever speech isn’t available.
- One small adapter between the call and your voice service: hear, answer, speak. The demo uses the browser’s own speech, on the device only.

Accessibility
- The call’s state is announced: listening, thinking, speaking, muted.
- Each answer is announced once, so it can be heard with a screen reader too.
- Mute, captions and push-to-talk are toggle buttons that say whether they’re on.
- With reduced motion, the orb stays calm and lines appear without sliding.
